Playing chess without strategy? Then you lose the data game

In conversation with Antoine de Wispelaere, CEO of FIDDS

Every month we share insights about the future of data, AI and digital transformation. Because let us be honest: anyone who does not work data-driven today is playing a dangerous game. But how do you ensure your data does not become chaos? How do you deploy it smartly without getting stuck in a swamp of spreadsheets and legacy systems?

This time we speak with Antoine de Wispelaere, CEO of FIDDS, about the importance of a strong data strategy and why he founded FIDDS.

“There must be a better way?”

Antoine laughs when we ask him how FIDDS came about.

“That thought had been running through my head for years. I kept seeing the same thing happen: companies were sitting on a goldmine of data, but did… absolutely nothing with it. Meanwhile, they were making decisions on gut feeling, while the data was telling them something completely different.”

What went wrong?

“Data was seen as an IT affair. CEOs considered it a technical problem instead of a game changer for their strategy. While data can actually be the turbo for innovation, efficiency and growth. Only… then you do need to approach it properly.”

FIDDS: The strategy organisations need

In 2023, Antoine decided things had to change.

“I was done with quick fixes and loose tools that help companies move forward briefly, but solve nothing in the long term. So I built FIDDS, Full Impact Data Driven Solutions, an approach that enables companies to not only collect data, but also truly leverage it strategically.”

What makes FIDDS different from the rest?

  • No loose tools, but an integrated approach: Data and AI are not toys. We ensure that companies build a solid foundation they can build on for years.
  • The bridge between business and IT: We take data out of the IT corner and place it at the heart of strategic decisions.
  • Data as superpower: We let companies experience how data makes them smarter, faster and more creative.

“The companies that switch now win the future”

Antoine sees the market accelerating.

“AI and data are no longer optional. The companies that get their data strategy in order today are the winners of tomorrow. The rest? They fall behind.”

His advice to CEOs?

“Do not think too long. Start. Today.”

Because the chess game has already begun. The only question is: are you playing strategically, or are you letting yourself be checkmated?
